Day 5: Shabbat 7th August 2016

We really enjoyed being able to wake up slightly later this morning and began our Shabbat morning with davening and a great Kiddush. This was followed by a Shabbat-friendly Challenge session where we learnt about Israeli society. A crazy and exciting programme followed Shabbat lunch which involved participants running around the camp site finding answers to questions, completing forfeits, and competing against their peers. Everyone had a fantastic time and learnt a lot about general knowledge, sport, Judaism and their madrichim.

Free time followed which was longer than usual, after which we had our annual Tribe ‘Question & Answer’ session with Rabbi and Rebbetzen Levin and Rabbi and Rebbetzen Azizoff. Everyone really got involved in this and some great questions asked with even greater answers given.

We ended Shabbat with our third meal and a beautiful ‘Shabbat sum up’ with all three camps joining together. We shared our favourite Shabbat moment, sang beautiful songs and heard lots of stories. This was followed by a lovely Havdalah (end of Shabbat ceremony) to say goodbye to Shabbat and to distinguish between Shabbat and the rest of the week.

We are all really excited for our trip tomorrow and so had to try and get some sleep tonight!
